Mr. Fiifi Simpson joined Vanguard Life Assurance Company Limited from ELAC. He was the Deputy General Manager Group Operations with Enterprise Life Assurance Company. Mr. Simpson was a pioneer management staff of ELAC. He rose through the ranks first as Business Development Manager in 2001 and other positions such as Corporate Risk Manager and Assistant General Manager responsible for Sales & Marketing.

In these roles, he was instrumental in the introduction of Bancassurance and various sales models to Brokers and Agency Channel. He started his insurance career at Ghana Reinsurance Company where he worked as Senior Life Underwriter and contributed immensely to the setting up of the life Offices Association of Ghana.

Mr. Simpson has had extensive exposure through training programmes and attachments with institutions such as Hannover Reinsurance, Swiss Re, Sanlam South Africa, among others. He is a product of University of Ghana, West Africa Insurance Institute (WAII) and Adisadel College. He has over 25 years experience in the Life Insurance Industry.

He is a Chartered Insurer specialized in life assurance and a member of The Chartered Insurance Institute - London (CII-UK), and the Insurance Institute of Ghana (IIG). He is currently Senior Manager, responsible for operations managing all sales channels, technical operations and branches. He holds IEMBA (Banking and Finance) from the Paris Graduate School of Management - France. He also hold’s Advanced Applied Insurance Studies Diploma from the Malta International Training Centre (MITC) through the Ghana Insurance College (GIC).

Prior to joining Vanguard Life in 2009 as Head Of Retail (Marketing), he worked with Ghana Life Insurance Company Ltd. for over five (5) years in several key positions gaining total exposure of life assurance business.

He has both local and international exposure in sales, strategic planning, technical operations and reassurance and has contributed to the creation, sales and administration of innovative products such as Bancassurance, Mobile Life Assurance, Islamic Life Assurance (Takaful), Long Term Savings plans, Christian Life Assurance, Microassurance, Mortgage-linked life assurance and other Alternative Distribution (channel-linked) products.

Mr. Akurugu Awine Thomas is the Manager in charge of Internal Audit. He is a chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICA Ghana).

He pursued the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) Finance option from the Central University College of Ghana and is currently awaiting his project work.

Mr. Akurugu has over twelve (12) years experience in the field of Accounting, Taxation, External and Internal Auditing.

He trained with a number of accounting firms, his last place been Morrison and Associates, a reputable firm of Chartered Accountants. He has had exposure in his field and thus has the requisite experience in financial accounting, taxation, and auditing.

Patrick O. Saben – Fosu is the Head of Finance & Accounts. He was the Assistant Finance Manager prior to his new role.

He is a Chartered Account from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG), and holds an MBA in Banking & Finance from Paris Graduate School of Management and a product of St. Peters Secondary School, Nkwatia - Ghana. He has Nine (9) years experience in the field of Finance.

Mr. Christian Edwards joined Vanguard Life Assurance Company in 2012 as the Head of Premium Administration. He is a Chartered Accountant; a member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and He is currently pursuing an MBA programme at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

Mr. Christian Edwards has over 15 years working experience in Internal and External Auditing as well as Accounting.

Prior to joining Vanguard Life Christian was the head of Credit Control at Vanguard Assurance Company Limited worked with John Allotey & Co. (Chartered Accountants) for eight years and two years with Environmental Protection Agency.
